Here I am again researching chemicals in our products and I learn that FDA has decided to lessen its restrictions on labels. I thought … that can’t be true. But I assure you, sadly it is. So let’s talk about it …
Below is a table that lists the chemical, products, health effects, and regulatory status.
We are left to do our own research about the chemicals in our products. I dare you to call the number on the back of your laundry detergent bottle and ask for a list of the ingredients from the company. I did this and after being transferred from person to person, one kind woman told me I would not be able to get the information in which I seek. Why not? Isn’t that against the law? No, it is not.
Please research what you are using in your own homes!!!
There are a few ways for you to do your research. I will list some resources below:
“The law doesn’t require cosmetics to have FDA approval before they go on the market. But FDA can take action against a cosmetic on the market if we have reliable information showing that it is unsafe when consumers use it according to directions on the label, or in the customary or expected way, or if it is not labeled properly.”

Our story: From sickness to health!
Just 5 years ago, life was so different for my family and in particular – my son. Since he was about 6 months old, he suffered from:
- Asthma
- Respiratory Distress
- Eczema on his face and body (since he was born)
- Constant doctor visits
- Prescriptions for creams
- Crying because it itched him
- Temper tantrums from the creams (because most burned)
- Skin rashes that bled
- the list goes on and on.
It was so sad. We landed in the hospital (several times) and then the doctor prescribed medicines, cortisone creams, and steroids 😡
Honestly, I had had enough.
Life was hard until I started to research and made some BIG changes. Here is what we did:
- Diet: the first thing we did was change our diet. I say “our” because I also changed my diet too. More specifically we went gluten-free. 😱 Then we cut out dairy, soy, dyes, and sugar.
- Safe & Natural Products: I started to do research on the products we were using in our home and started to choose safe and natural products.
- Cleaning: I started to clean with vinegar and Thieves Household Cleaner.
- Essential Oils:
- 🤗I used Lavender essential oil and cream to support his skin.
- 🤫 Then Thieves essential oil became our best friend. I rubbed it on our feet to support our immune systems because staying well was key.
- Chemical Elimination: ❤️we also cut out almost all the chemicals in our home. You heard it no BLEACH and no poisons. For laundry I used baking soda and Thieves Laundry soap.
- Vitamins: I started to use vitamins and supplements.

I will never stop sharing our story. I hope it helps others make better decisions for their family. Essential oils and safe products were a HUGE part of how we got to a healthier place! 😭🙏🏻
